Auke Wiersma, President of Holland - U.S.A. Sports Promotion, Inc. in response to huge demand is organizing half day, full day and weekend coaching clinics upon request. Auke's former professional Dutch soccer career combined with his Bachelors of Science Degree in Physical Education, U.S. Soccer Federation coaching credentials and National "B" license make him ideally qualified to educate. The coaching clinics are for both the recreational and the travel coach. H.U.S.P., Inc. clinics combine classroom sessions with field sessions. The coaching clinics may be conducted at the client's soccer facility or at a more convenient location.

At Holland - U.S.A. Sports Promotion, Inc. we firmly believe that young soccer players deserve coaches that have a thorough understanding of soccer and the professional skills required to teach children. It is important that a coach not only understands how soccer is played but also feel what it is like to play the game in order to motivate their team.

The main focus of the coaching clinic is technique. Technique training will be exercised in detail on the field through repetition in order to gain the feel for the ball. Exercises are designed to create the best learning environment for the players. Coaches must learn the fine balance between failure and success in the training sessions. Acute observations will be made during the training sessions to prevent exercises that are to difficult and create failure not player development, while training sessions that are to easy create success without player development. Small modifications of space, time and pressure in an exercise will be taught and discussed in order to achieve optimum player development.

The classroom sessions will focus in detail on how to create a team youth plan including breakdowns of instrumental training sessions and scrimmages to accommodate any team's strengths and weaknesses. The classroom sessions will outline proper preparation and conduct for coaches, while always stressing positive reinforcement.
